my lost love

I have been in LOVE with this mirror for quite some time. It is from restoration hardware. I found out it is longer available. I will be on the search for something similar. I like the clean lines and the large gold accent on this one, it reminds me of the older convex mirrors but with an up to date fresh more modern feel. Hopefully I will find something I love even more....if anybody has any suggestions???

japanese lanterns

Are they not beautiful? They bring back a special memory for me...when I was younger my grandmother brought over these seeds and together we planted Japanese lanterns. They are still there in the garden. My grandmother has used them for decoration in her home as well as my mother. They are great for the fall especially. I think they are so beautiful and have been noticing fake versions popping up in stores (although there is no comparison to the real deal)

So this is to my Gram B, thank you for putting so much beauty in my life. Much of who I have become is thanks to you. My love for everything beautiful comes from a beautiful grandmother who I strive to take example from.

TODAY is my first post on a blog ever. I am truly excited... especially after visiting so many inspiring blogs on design and lifestyle. I am excited to get started on this new venture and hope to broaden my horizons!!! So tonight is a quick run to barnes & noble to buy the house beautiful book.
House beautiful is one of my addictions. I had others such as cottage living and domino but they were snatched away from me, as some of you may have experienced as well. So currently it is House Beautiful.
Saturday should be a nice day for thrifting, which by the way is one of my other addictions. I actually sometimes feel edgy at work knowing there may be some great find I am missing out on, while I am being trapped behind the doors of work. Isn't that kind of sad? But some of you may relate...hopefully!
